Meet the Farm
Serenity Farm is a working farm and the private residence of Laura & Paul Phelps. Its 126-acres are composed of wooded, wetland, gently rolling crop land and a vast variety of vegetable and flower gardens. Turkeys, sheep, goats, chickens, pigs and honey bees also make the farm their home. The gardens and courtyard are inhabited by sculptures from a variety of U.S. artists. We are passionate about what we do and have a deep sense of pride in the craft of farming. To ensure our dream continues for future generations, Serenity Farm was placed in permanent conservancy through Tall Pines Land Conservancy. Visitors to Serenity Farm experience the importance of the farm, not only in what it can produce, but how essential it is to be connected to the land. It's a magical place.

What You'll Find
vibrant gardens
When the farm was purchased in 2011, the only remnant of a garden was a patch of rhubarb. A transformation has taken place. Now, over 20 gardens brim with non-GMO, organically grown vegetables, herbs and flowers. You never have to worry when you stop to smell the flowers at Serenity, pesticides and herbicides are never used. A high-tunnel hoop house has been added to extend the Wisconsin growing season. The farm provides fresh, organic vegetables for a number of local families every season.
Historic barns
Barns illustrate the cultural heritage of agriculture in Wisconsin and Serenity Farm’s early 1900’s wooden dairy barn is a prime example of this important local heritage. It has been meticulously restored to its original splendor. Traditional materials with mortise and tenon joinery, complete with wood pegs, were used. Two large custom stained glass windows have been added at each gable end creating a cathedral-like quality. The barn measures nearly 95’ x 32’ and can hold up to 200 guests. The barn is neither heated nor cooled. Fans and Mother Nature provide nice ventilation.
local and national art
From a majestic spire to a menagerie of creatures, guests will encounter sculptures from artists in their community and abroad. Visitors have described it as a storybook setting.
We’re conveniently located just a few minutes north of downtown Oconomowoc. We love growing and sharing what we do. Guests are welcome for farm and art tours with an appointment.
